Healthcare is a vital resource in communities across the United States and Microsoft is committed to helping keep it safe, accessible, and innovative.  The Rural Health Resiliency Program aims to:

Who is Eligible? 
 
All hospitals listed as “rural” based on this Data on Urban and Rural Hospitals are eligible, as well as all independent Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Emergency Hospitals. 

Urban hospitals, healthcare networks, health plans, ambulatory/outpatient healthcare clinics, and hospitals located outside the United States are not eligible for this program.   

Outside of this program, other US healthcare organizations, such as Federally Qualified Healthcare Centers, are eligible for Microsoft nonprofit pricing. To check eligibility and apply, go here

What does the Microsoft Rural Health Resiliency Program offer?  

Microsoft Product Discounts/Offers: 

  • Nonprofit Pricing*: Rural independent Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Emergency Hospitals are eligible for standard Microsoft nonprofit pricing. Check your eligibility here, and apply here. Once your eligibility is confirmed, you will receive a Microsoft email with next steps.   

  • Windows 10 ESU 1-Year Extension**: All rural hospitals are eligible for up 250 licenses to provide an additional year of product support on Windows 10.  Devices must be running the final software version (22HR). This supports devices through October 13, 2026.  To access, ensure you are registered for the Rural Health Resiliency Program (sign up on this page) and see the information at the bottom of this page.

Free Cybersecurity Assessment: 

  • This cyber risk review is anchored in healthcare cybersecurity best practices and goals. A vetted cybersecurity firm conducts the assessment and provides a report and recommendations on how to address your unique risks. There is no requirement to purchase any products or services. 

Free Cloud Capability Evaluation: 

  • This cloud maturity review, a pragmatic assessment of your infrastructure and capabilities to migrate to the cloud, is delivered by a proven Microsoft partner.  This review provides insight on needs and risks and offers a clear roadmap to shift IT infrastructure to be cloud-powered, secure, and cost effective.  There is no requirement to purchase any products or services.
